Vile posters have been popping up in Sydney, to spread racist agenda. The posters masquerade as popular Pokémon cards and feature the amended catchphrase – “gotta catch & deport them all”.
Australian Muslims Waleed Aly and Yassmin Abdel-Magied are featured in the posters as ‘Waleedamon’ and ‘Yassmin-Abdelamon’, along with Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young, and depictions of Apex gang members and an Asian man.
The shocking racist slurs were created by a group calling themselves ‘Aussie Nationalists.’
The group’s website has copies of the posters, and encourages people to print them out and “spread the love in your area”.
The Sydney public alerted the police and Marrickville Local Area Command are now “seeking information from the public about who made and distributed them.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 33 000.
