Stepping out in a figure-hugging, nude-coloured dress with gold embellishments by Armani Privé, Best Supporting Actress nominee Nicole Kidman made a jaw-dropping entrance at the 89th Annual Academy Awards in Hollywood on Sunday, February 26.
Her golden locks were swept up into a low bun while she added a slick of red lipstick and jewelled-toned statement earrings to her already-striking ensemble.
Finishing off her look, the 49-year-old added elegant diamond bracelets and rings on each hand.
Nic was joined by Keith Urban and the pair happily shared an affectionate kiss for the cameras.
On the red carpet, Nicole spoke to host Ryan Seacrest about the unbreakable bond she has formed with Sue Brierley.
“Sue is just the most divine woman,” the actress explained of Sue, whose incredible story she brings to life in Lion.
And the feeling is very mutual with Sue telling E! News she formed an instant bond with Nicole.
“We’re really happy to be here, it is unbelievable. Truly, she’s been so fantastic. I’ve become so close to her. I call her my soul sister,” Sue said at the awards show.
“We just connected so instantly from our first meeting. She went to a lot of effort to learn about me and, quite honestly, she nailed it.”
In another interview with Richard Wilkins on Today, the mother-of-four admitted she suffered a last-minute outfit dilemma when the strap to her dress broke as they were making their way to the event.
“I had a bit of a panic because my strap on my dress broke when I got in the car,” she laughed.
Lion, which is up for six Oscar nominations, is a moving drama based on the real-life story of a young boy adopted by an Australian couple on his search for his birth mother some twenty five years after being separated from her.
In the end, the actress lost out to Viola Davis who took away the Best Supporting Actress award for Fences.
Meanwhile, hearts around the world collectively melted when the movie’s stand-out star Sunny Pawar, eight, arrived.
The charismatic actor hammed it up for the cameras, adjusting his bow-tie and flashing his best smile.
And just when you thought the cast of Lion couldn’t get anymore inspirational, Dev Patel officially became our new favourite star after walking the red carpet with his mum.
“My mum is constantly on the verge of tears, they’re happy tears,” Best Supporting Actor nominee Dev told E!
