It has been six weeks since missing Melbourne mother, Karen Ristevski, was last seen at her home in Melbourne’s northwest. Now, her stepson, who is an ice-addict, claims she may have run away and is in hiding.
In a statement to the police, stepson Andrew Rickard, said the relationship between his father and stepmother was “fake” and built upon money, maintaining their image and their daughter.
He wrote that “a situation developed between myself and Karen which I’d rather not fully detail at this time,” The Australian reports.
The 47-year-old left her luxury home in Avondale Heights at 10am on June 29 after allegedly having a fight with her husband Borce about money issues.
Karen said she was going to get some fresh air but no-one has heard from her since.
Concerns for her safety were raised when she didn’t arrive to work at the Bella Bleu boutique at Watergardens Town Centre in Taylors Lakes.
Her family said she had medical issues and that’s it’s extremely unlike her to not contact anyone in the family.
Karen’s daughter Sarah urged the public to help find her.
She told the media: “I just want my mum to come home.”
Ms Ristevski has not used her mobile phone or bank accounts, or made contact with friends or family since June 29.
