Can’t say we’d swap shoes with Melania Trump right now, even though they are designer. She’s reportedly “miserable” in her role of First Lady and struggling to cope with the press and scrutiny that’s been forced upon her.
The Slovenian-born mum and former model is feeling totally trapped. She has reportedly hauled herself up in Trump Tower penthouse in New York, and can’t even send her son to school without getting harassed by protesters, reports say.
“This life wasn’t her dream. It was Donald’s,” family friend and Melania’s stylist Phillip Bloch tells US Weekly. “Truthfully, it’s a lot to cope with.”
She’s also absent from the New York social scene and even some presidential events, with Donald’s daughter Ivanka attending in her place. “She is staying hidden more,” claims Bloch, who add she gets the Secret Service to take Barron to and from school.
The First Lady decided not to move into the White House until Barron finishes the school year, but rumour has it she won’t be going at all. Melania originally moved to the US for her modelling career, not become a political figure.
“Melania is unhappy with how her life ended up,” a family source tells the publication. “She is miserable.”
However Melania was recently seen living it up Florida, leaving freezing cold New York behind for the lavish holiday home she shares with Donald. The President and First Lady hosted the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his wife, Akie, at the Trump’s $300 million estate in Palm Beach, Mar-a-Lago.
“Melania says she’s most happy at Mar-a-Lago,” says a source close to the First Lady. “She loves Palm Beach.”
Maybe this is why Melania decided to turn on her First Lady charm when showing Akie around Palm Beach, visiting the Bethesda-by-the-Sea church where she and Donald tied the knot in 2005? She also took Akie to see the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. But “don’t let her smile in those photos fool you,” claims the source. “She hates this.”
More recently, Melania was seen meeting Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, and his wife Sara at the White House.
Sigh, here’s hoping she can settle into her important role as FLOTUS and inspire kids the same way Michelle Obama did.
