A young Tanzanian woman has been rescued after being held captive in a concrete pit for eight months.
Buzz Kenya reports that Tanzanian police discovered the woman following a tip off from suspicious neighbours.
The man was allegedly acting on the advice of a witch doctor who told the man that if we wanted to become rich he had to bury the person he loved most.
Buzz Kenya report that the man built the concrete pit and used a plank to cover the ceiling.
The woman was shackled to the wall inside the underground prison. She was naked and only given food twice a week.
Although she survived the ordeal she is malnourished and the muscles in her back have fused together.
The man has been arrested.
