France has launched a series of airstrikes on the Syrian city of Raqqa in the wake of the deadly Paris terror attacks.
According to the French Defence Ministry, 12 jets dropped 20 bombs on the terror groups de-facto capital.
“The first target destroyed was used by Daesh (another Arabic acronym for IS) as a command post, jihadist recruitment centre and arms and munitions depot,” a ministry statement said.
“The second held a terrorist training camp.”
It comes after the Islamic State claimed responsibility for coordinated attacks in Paris that killed 129 people.
