Taking to the stage to collect her award from last year’s Best Actor winner, Leonardo DiCaprio, an elated Emma Stone delivered an emotional speech.
“Thank you so much to the Academy, to the women in this category – you are all so extraordinary. I look up to you and I admire you,” the 28-year-old, who looked incredible in a shimmering gold Givenchy dress, begun.
“To my mum, and my dad, and my brother Spencer, and my whole family, I love you all so much. Thank you for everything!”
Pausing, Emma took a moment to thank her La La Land co-star and Best Actor nominee, Ryan Gosling.
“Ryan Gosling, thank you making me laugh, and for always raising the bar, and being the greatest partner on this crazy adventure,” she said.
“To my mum, and my dad, and my brother Spencer, and my whole family, I love you all so much. Thank you for everything!”
“I realise that a moment like this is a huge confluence of luck and oppurunity. And I want to thank Damien Chazelle , I am so grateful to have been involved in this film,” she added.
“[To my friends] I’m going to hug the hell out of the you when the feeling re-enters my body.”
“I still have a lot of growing and learning to do, and this guy is a really beautiful symbol to continues on this journey so thank you so much,” Emma concluded as she proudly held up her Oscar.
