Kim Dorsett has written a letter in the Courier Mail reflecting on the day that changed her life forever.
It’s been almost one year since Kim Dorsett lost her son, daughter and son-in-law after the Thunder River Rapids ride malfunctioned at Dreamworld , killing four people.
Kate Goodchild, 32, her brother Luke Dorsett, his partner Roozi Araghi and a 42-year-old Cindy Low lost their lives in the accident Dreamworld announced the ride would never run again as a mark of respect for the grieving families.
Kate Goodchild’s daughter was on the ride also but was flung off to safety, as was another child.

In the letter, Kim Dorsett revealed her family would not have wanted people to avoid Dreamworld out of fear.
“Luke, Roozi and Katie were fond of the Gold Coast, having visited several times in recent years. They were huge fans of the theme parks and it was their third visit to Dreamworld,” she explained.
She also paid tribute to Kate as a “perfect mummy” to two little girls and to Luke and Roozi as “perfect uncles”.
“Kate’s girls will never have those hugs and kisses from their mum that every child should have.”
Cindy Low was also a wife devoted mother.
In a funeral notice from 2016, published in The Sydney Morning Herald, the 42-year-old mother-of-two was remembered as the “dearly cherished wife and soulmate of Mathew Low and devoted mother of Kieran and Isla”.
The family said it would “take us a long time to find our way”.
