They were left in great danger when a hunter killed their father, but Cecil the Lion’s cubs are thriving after being adopted into a new pride.
The two young lions have been taken under the wing of three lionesses in their uncle Jericho’s pride in Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe.
Conservationists from African Bush Camps have been watching the pair closely since their father’s death and are relieved to find them thriving in their new family.
Cecil the Lion made headlines around the world when his headless, skinned body was found dumped outside the national park where he lived. He was one of Africa’s most famous lions, and was lured out of the park and killed by American hunter Walter Palmer, who paid $75,000 for the privilege.
Palmer has been in hiding since news of his slaughter broke.
