Bindi Irwin‘s got her mum’s back, that’s for sure!
In a new interview with E!’s Daily Pop, the 18-year-old has addressed wild claims Terri Irwin is secretly dating Aussie actor Russell Crowe.
Setting the record straight for once and for all, the Wildlife Warrior explained that despite the romance rumours surrounding the pair, Rusty is just a good family friend.
Bindi says her mum will always love Steve.
“There’s lots of crazy rumours. You know we do love Russell, but mum and Russell aren’t actually in love,” she told the show.
“Russell is a wonderful Wildlife Warrior. He was a dear friend of dad’s – now a dear friend of ours. He feels like family to us, but mum and Russell? Just friends. For sure,”
The star went on to reveal Terri is still too connected to her late husband, Steve Irwin.
“My dad is still very much my mum’s soul mate. And I think that no matter what, mum always says that they’ll always be married,” she told the panel.
“And to her, mum and dad, they’re always going to be together. So in this life and the next, they’re a couple and a team. So I think that’s really important.”
The 18-year-old insists Rusty is just a good family friend.
Speaking to ET in 2015, Terri admitted she was content with never dating again.
“I think I’ve had my happily ever after. I still feel immense love and loyalty to Steve. And I’ve got great kids, I’ve got a very full life, and while I’m lonely for Steve, I’m not a lonely person,” the 52-year-old confessed.
“I think if I hadn’t met Steve I probably would have never married. So that’s how unique our relationship was. And I think for other people who have lost someone and have loved again, it’s a beautiful thing but it’s just not really on my horizon,” the mother-of-two added.
