Another day, another outrageous comment by US president, Donald Trump . Today, he took on the role of lecherous uncle when he met fellow world leader Emmanuel Macron and likened his wife, Brigitte Macron, to a trophy, commending the French president for his wife’s body.
“She’s in such good physical shape”, Trump told Mr Macron.
The age-gap between Macron and his wife (Brigitte is 24 years older than her husband) has been widely publicised. We half expected Trump to add “for her age” to the end of his sentence, despite the fact Brigitte is seven years younger than he is.
“Beautiful,” he continued before ushering his wife Melania Trump and Brigitte to “Go have a good time.” Let the big boys do their work now. Watch below:
Of course, this is simply one comment in a whole catalogue of sexist and horrific remarks made against women. Let’s have a little refresher, shall we…
Donald Trump on Hillary Clinton
“If Hillary Clinton can’t satisfy her husband what makes her think she can satisfy America?”
Donald Trump on women in general
In a 1991 Esquire magazine profile, Trump had this to say about his bad press: “You know, it really doesn’t matter what they write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass. But she’s got to be young and beautiful.”
In infamous leaked footage from 2005, Trump is heard telling Access Hollywood host Billy Bush, “You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait.”
“And when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything,” he says, in audio captured via hot mic. “Grab them by the p-ssy. You can do anything.”
Melania was pregnant with their son Barron when he made the comments.
During the second presidential debate, Trump repeatedly defended these comments as “locker room talk,” as if it is normal and acceptable for men to talk about violating women.
Donald Trump on various celebrities
On Bette Midler
“While @BetteMidler is an extremely unattractive woman, I refuse to say that because I always insist on being politically correct.”
On Ariana Huffington
“Ariana Huffington is unattractive, both inside and out. I fully understand why her former husband left her for a man — he made a good decision.”
On Rosie O’Donnell: “If I were running The View, I’d fire Rosie. I’d look her right in that fat, ugly face of hers and say, ‘Rosie, you’re fired.’ … We’re all a little chubby but Rosie’s just worse than most of us.”
On Meryl Streep
“Meryl Streep, one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood, doesn’t know me but attacked last night at the Golden Globes. She is a Hillary flunky who lost big.”
On Sarah Jessica Parker:
Donald Trump on breastfeeding
“You’re disgusting!” Trump shouted at a female lawyer, who, during a deposition involving Trump, asked for a medical break to pump breast milk for her 3-month-old daughter.
Trump also fat-shamed Kim Kardashian, while she was pregnant
Donald Trump on sexual assaults in the military
Donald Trump’s response to claims he sexually assaulted a People journalist
Donald Trump on former Miss Universe Alicia Machado
“[She] weighed 118 pounds or 117 pounds and she went up to 160 or 170. So this is somebody that likes to eat.” He also called her “Miss Piggy,” “Miss Housekeeping,” and an “eating machine.”
Donald Trump on female TV journalist, Mika Brzezinski
President Trump insulted the journalist’s looks, brains and temperament on Twitter after her show, MSNBC’s Morning Joe, was reportedly criticising him.
He called her “Low I.Q. Crazy Mika” and said she was “bleeding badly from a face-lift” when he met her in the past.
Bonus: Donald Trump on his daughter Ivanka
“… she does have a very nice figure. I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”
