Donald Trump totally ripped off a speech from Legally Blonde and here’s the evidence

Sorry Mr President, but we think the original trumps your version...

It seems blonde hair isn’t the only thing that Donald Trump has in common with Reese Witherspoon’s beloved Legally Blonde character Elle Woods.

They also have a very particular way with words.

During a recent episode of his chat show, Jimmy Fallon pointed out that the US President’s commencement speech at Liberty University in Virginia on 13 May had some striking similarities to Elle’s famous graduation speech at the end of the 2001 flick.

Both the president and Elle talk about graduates going out “’into the world” with “passion” and “courage of conviction”.

“Most importantly, you must always have faith in yourself,” Elle says, while Trump also stresses the need to ‘”be true to yourself”.

Busted!

Let’s just hope Trump doesn’t attempt the Bend and Snap anytime soon…

Of course this isn’t the first time the president or his wife Melania Trump have come under fire for plagiarising famous speeches.

During his inauguration speech in January, Trump was accused of plagiarising a speech given by villain Bane – played by Tom Hardy – in The Dark Night Rises.

“We take Gotham from the corrupt! The rich! The oppressors of generations who have kept you down with myths of opportunity, and we give it back to you… the people.” Bane says.

Trump’s version? “But we are transferring power from Washington D.C. and giving it back to you… the people,” he told the crowds.

Meanwhile, the First Lady also came under fire late 2016 when she made a speech during her husband’s campaign that was basically a carbon copy of the one made by the outgoing First Lady, Michelle Obama.

But we guess copying a speech from an actual person is better than stealing lines from a movie character, right Mr Trump?
