Samantha Armytage has reportedly taken a dig at the rumours that Lisa Wilkinson left channel Nine a gender pay dispute.
The pay gap dispute has not been confirmed by Lisa Wilkinson herself, who shocked Australian audiences with a surprise move from The Today Show to join The Project on Channel Ten.
Sam was attending a charity event at Wooloomoloo in Sydney when it is alleged she made some cheeky comments about the events occurring at the revival breakfast show.
Yahoo reports that the Sunrise host made the comments after Channel Seven made a bid of $10,000 during the charity auction, quipping that her bosses “have plenty of money”.
Followed by, “Kochie and I are very good value for money this week!”
While there is no guarantee these comments were not taken out of context, the long-standing beef between Nine’s Today Show and Seven’s Sunrise teams is legendary.
In fact, just one day after Lisa’s exit was announced the Sunrise crew decided to poke some fun at the situation over at Nine which many said was in poor taste.
In the past, Lisa has even slammed suggestions that the matter of salary even comes up between her and co-host Karl Stefanovic.
According to The Australian, Karl was reportedly on a contract for $9 million over three years while Lisa’s was around $1.1 million per year. The Daily Telegraph claims Lisa’s deal was bumped up to $1.8 million but ultimately that wasn’t enough.
While unconfirmed, The Daily Telegraph claims she’s being paid around $2 million for her new gig on The Project.
