Christina Ricci was just 11-years-old when she starred in the 1991 flick The Addams Family, playing the delightfully creepy Wednesday Addams.
And now, thanks to some clever photoshop ninjas, there is a photo of her all-grown up as her character’s mum… And it is fantastic!
Without lifting a finger, Christina Ricci has broken the internet thanks to a snap of her going viral.
24 years since Wednesday’s woefully subdued act light up our screens, genius Tumblr user thecreaturesenchantment has created a striking image of Christina chanelling her spooke mother, Morticia Addams (below).
The family’s malevolent matriarch was originally played by Anjelica Huston but we must admit, the 35-year-old fits into the role perfectly.
Fans across the globe took to social media to share their glee over the viral snap.
“Christina Ricci as Morticia Addams. What a time to be alive,” one user penned.
“Never realized I needed a photo of Christina Ricci as Morticia Addams so badly in my life until now,” another added.
In 2014, the mum-of-one chatted to Parade magazine about her time as the iconic character.

“I think that I’ve been very lucky that none of these images or impressions I’ve left on people have been bad ones really. People love Wednesday, but I would love that character too, so I’ve never really attempted to shake any of the stuff,” the former child actress explained to the publication.
Adding, “I’ve always been very lucky to have characters that people really love. I think about some people that can’t shake really bad images and I’m glad I avoided them.”
At this point, there is no sequel in the works but as one Twitter user aptly suggested, “I’d watch ten movies based around Wednesday Addams if they used Christina Ricci again!”
These days the Mermaids star is happily married to James Heerdegen and shares a one-year-old son with him. She still loves to act and is currently working on a new film, Mother’s Day.
We think now is an appropriate time to formally call for the return of Christina Ricci as Wednesday Addams!
We’d love The Addams Family brought back to the silver screen.
