Director, Nicole Fitzsimons Foundation.**

When her sister, Nicole, was killed in a motorbike accident in Thailand in 2012, Kate was finishing her business degree and looking forward to a career in corporate Australia. The loss of Nicole completely changed Kateโ€™s life journey. โ€œMy family established the Nicole Fitzsimons Foundation to honour Nicole and to raise awareness of travel safety overseas among young Australian tourists,โ€ Kate says. She now travels Australia with an educational travel safety presentation and film that have been seen by over 30,000 students. The prize would go towards safe travel education kits for teachers to use alongside the film.
