When the queen of tennis Serena Williams got married to Alexis Ohanian in New Orleans, it was an epic affair.
They said their vows in front of around 200 of their nearest and dearest including Kim Kardashian, Beyonce, Ciara, Anna Wintour, Kelly Rowland, Eva Longoria, sister Venus Williams, and the guest of honour… Their baby girl Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr.
The lavish wedding was Beauty and the Beast-themed (amazing), and Serena’s new hubby moved everyone to tears when he professed, “I will always have bad jokes that make your eyes roll; make you give me the side eye. You are the greatest of all time, not just in sport. I’m talking about as a mother, and as a wife. I am so excited to write so many more chapters of our fairy tale together.”
As it was the most opulent wedding ever, of COURSE the honeymoon was going to be the stuff of dreams…
The tennis champ and the co-founder of Reddit jetted off to the secluded island of Kamalame Cay in the Bahamas. And let us tell you, it’s the definition of luxury…
Take a peek at the couple’s current reality and try not to explode with jealousy!
The intimate, family-run private island is accessible only by the resort’s private ferry, helicopter or sea plane.
The island is “96 acres of flowering jungle, coconut palm groves, and three miles of private white sand beach,” according to booking.com
There are four bedrooms… so which to pick?
Modern?
Or incredible views?
But you could just pick and choose!
We can see ourselves lounging here.
Kamalame Cay is in the heart of The Bahamas, off the coast of Andros Island and just one kilometre from the third largest barrier reef in the world.
Imagine waking up to this?
It has a tennis court!
And a bar, which is even better.
This bath says ‘honeymoon’ to us.
Happy honeymooning, Serena and Alexis! Oh, and you can book their villa for around $35,000 per week. Just in case you happen to have it lying around.
