Jade Sharp, a bride-to-be from the UK, has been issued a public apology after a restaurant she was looking at as a potential wedding venue, unintentionally sent her an email that described her as a “cow”.
Ms Sharp shared the full account in a heated and unsurprisingly negative review on the Trip Advisor website.
Jade and her fiance visited The Mulberry Tree in Kent, hoping to “get a feel for the venue” and on first inspection, the pair were happy with the location.
It wasn’t until Jade attempted to arrange a follow-up viewing and QandA of the restaurant as a potential wedding venue that things started to go downhill.
Following some poor communication between the bride-to-be and the restaurant, the bride arrived at the eatery to “surprised faces” – no one had been notified of their appointment, which had been confirmed by management via email.
Jade recounts a half-hearted tour of the restaurant took place, with their guide unable to answer any of their questions. She and her husband left disappointed, and Ms Sharp emailed the manager to complain about the day’s events.
“Then a few hours later I received an email that obviously was not meant for me,” Jade said in her Trip Advisor review.
“It was, in fact, an email from the lady we saw (manager of the day) to her mum (manager) about me and our visit.”
The email Jade received called her “a cow” and that Jade’s complaint had “pissed her off.” The full email was shared on the bride-to-be’s Facebook page, that and the alongside the review is quickly going viral.
“I cannot express how hurt and upset I was reading the email. How rude and unprofessional the way in which she spoke about us,” Jade lamented.
Karen, owner of The Mulberry Tree, replied with an apology to Jades public and negative critique.
“I am absolutely mortified, horrified and completely embarrassed that you had sight of such an email. It is completely unprofessional and indefensible,” she replied.
“I did telephone you as soon as I found out what had happened to offer my profuse and sincere apologies and did apologise repeatedly to you.”
“You were adamant that you did not want to get married at The Mulberry Tree, completely understandably so after the email you were sent so I did not wish to insult you by attempting to make amends after such a catastrophic mistake on our part, especially when it is your wedding day involved. “
“Once again I offer my sincerest apologies to you.”
