On Friday, May 25, Hugh Grant married his girlfriend of six years, Anna Eberstein at the Chelsea registry office in front of their closest family members and friends. Fans first got word about their nuptials after the Kensington and Chelsea register office posted wedding banns revealing the couple has set a date, according to Metro.

Hugh and Anna held hands as they were photographed walking down the steps of the Old Town Hall as confetti was thrown at the newlyweds, according to the Telegraph. The wedding was meant to be kept very low-key and very discreet. Onlookers said the couple seemed to be happy and “full of smiles” on their wedding day, even though Hugh once said that he was “not a massive believer in marriage.”

And Hugh’s friends are said to be thrilled by the news — as they apparently never thought they’d see him get married. “This is a day none of Hugh’s friends ever thought would come,” a source told The Sun before the wedding. “He will soon be a pensioner and has finally become a family man.”

It was recently revealed that Hugh and Anna had welcomed their third child together, the Love Actually actor’s fifth in total. But while Hugh and Anna have opted to keep quiet about their private life, the baby news came from Hugh’s ex Elizabeth Hurley.

Liz appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and was asked if she found it surprising that Hugh has fathered four children in seven years. Responding to the question, Elizabeth said, “He had another one last week. He has five. He was over 50 when he spawned them all. He’s an enchanting dad. Really, really sweet.”

Hugh also has two children with his ex-girlfriend Tinglan Hong.
