Now that Britney Spears and model Sam Asghari have hit the one-year mark, Brit’s itching to get hitched.
“They’re planning on getting engaged and having a spring wedding,” a source exclusively told Life & Style.
“One year was her benchmark. They passed what she was calling her ‘one-year relationship test.’ “
Britney, 36, practically has her big day all planned out already.
“She’s seriously considering Hawaii — she loves it there,” the source says. “She wants a beach wedding and she definitely wants to be barefoot. She’ll wear a white dress, but it won’t stay on for long — she wants to ditch the dress and get into a bikini.”
Britney has been down the aisle twice before: She impulsively wed childhood pal Jason Alexander in Las Vegas in January 2004 — and got the union annulled 55 hours later — and then tied the knot with Kevin Federline that October. (They divorced in 2007 and have two sons, Sean, 12, and Jayden, 11).
But the “Toxic” singer believes this marriage will stick. She and Sam, 23, first met on the set of her steamy music video for “Slumber Party.” At first, “Britney thought of Sam as a nice distraction,” the source says. “She never thought it would get so serious, but it has. They have lots in common and she says she feels safer with Sam than with any other man she’s ever loved.”
Back in January, the pop princess opened up about falling for Sam while filming “Slumber Party” during an interview on CBS Radio’s Fast in the Morning With Nathan Fast.
“I think we were at, um…we were shooting. We were doing the scene where I was doing the walk scene through the hall to go through the door to go to the bedroom, and we were sitting there and waiting and waiting together for like 20 minutes at a time,” she explained.
“We were having to be literally stuck there together, so we were basically forced to talk to each other.”
Eventually, Brit decided to take down Sam’s digits.
“[We were like], ‘Let’s do this, let’s [go on a date],’ and he said, ‘OK, I’ll give you my number after the thing,'” she recounted, adding that it took her a while to build up the courage to actually call.
“I kept his number, and it was so weird — it was like five months later, and I found his number in my bag. I was like, ‘He is really cute. This guy is really cute.’
So then I called him, and ever since then, he is just a really fun, funny person.”
