The US branch of the retailer has received thousands of complaints after it published heavily retouched images of model on its website.

In addition to having her thighs dramatically slimmed, the young woman’s waist, hips and arms have had inches shaved off them, making her already slender physique appear dangerously thin.

Making matters worse, the images are promoting items from the store’s junior line, aimed at young girls who are most susceptible to body image pressure.

Sadly, Target isn’t the only retailer to drastically alter its images to sell products – here are some of the worst offenders in our Photoshop hall of shame.

Target has come under fire for these heavily-airbrushed images on its US website. Over-zealous retouchers have crudely shaved inches off the already-slender model’s hips, thighs, waist and arms making her appear dangerously thin.
