Host Sonia Kruger is right in the thick of all the drama between the coaches on The Voice this season.
Now, with the live shows underway, the 52-year-old reveals who she thinks will come out on top.
“Delta [Goodrem] is the reigning champion,” Sonia tells TV WEEK. “She’s won two years in a row and wants to make it a hat-trick.
“But Joe [Jonas] is the dark horse. Underneath that fun and friendly exterior, he’s very competitive.”
Sonia is tipping the American singer to win the competition with one of his artists.
“It’s almost like he knows he’s going to win,” Sonia adds. “And I wouldn’t be surprised if he did. He is very LA cool.”
While Sonia says she loves having Joe on board as a coach this year, she admits it’s just not the same without Seal.
The British singer and songwriter was a regular in the big red chairs in 2012 and 2013. He then quit the show, but returned four years later for a third season in 2017.
“I did love Seal,” Sonia reflects.
“He was such a quirky person. He has a really good sense of humour and would make me laugh a lot.”
Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for Boy George. Sonia reveals she’s finding it hard to work with the self-described “Queen Of England” this season.
“George likes to play the devil’s advocate,” she explains. “So if we’re saying white, George tends to say black.
“George is such a unique artist and personality that I don’t think consensus comes naturally to him.”
She also says viewers can expect to see more plenty more fireworks and “robust debates” as the competition unfolds.
“Joe has history with Delta indirectly, because she dated his brother [Nick],” Sonia says.
“And I can tell you, it does come up. Joe definitely brings it up in a situation and it’s interesting to see what happens.”
We can’t wait!
