Women are conditioned to feel bad about themselves; this is nothing new.
The extent that we are willing to manipulate our bodies to keep up with the latest ‘hot trends’ will never cease to amaze
Forget breast implants or even lip injections, this year the hot trend we won’t be trialing is nipple surgery.
Yep, that’s right – we’re talking a surgical procedure to change the shape, the colour and/or to keep your nipples permanently pert and perky.
Dr Norman Rowe is a plastic surgeon from New York City. He said that in December last year, he was receiving only four requests a week for nipple surgery (which still seems like a lot to us!). In just six months these numbers have quadrupled to almost 18 nipple surgery requests a week.
You have celebrities like Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Rihanna to thank for this latest bod-mod craze.
Women see the celebrities wearing gauzy tops and dresses and want to wear the same, and they want their nipples to look the same.
“You see a lot of celebrities now wearing see-through dresses,” he told the Independent.
“My patients come in with pictures from magazines of nipples that they want; they want to wear see-through dresses too, and that makes them take a closer look at their nipples.
“For want of a better word, they want headlights.”
“I’ve had a number of women tell me that, when they’re wearing a bathing suit, they want their nipples to be more prominent.”
Yeah…Thanks, but no thanks.
