Cheeky husband puts ‘used wife’ up for sale on Ebay

He even got bids of up to to £65,000.

A man has who sooked to his unsympathetic wife has decided to prank her by listing her ‘for sale’ on eBay and used the ad to liken her to a used car.

Simon O’Kane from Yorkshire, UK, posted a picture of his wife Leandra alongside a playful ad specifying his motives for peddling her and the pros and cons of the “purchase”.

In the blurb Mr O’Kane told of how he came home from work last week and discovered his long-suffering wife was not keen on indulging his whinging.

“I came in after work feeling a bit tired and unwell – my was wife doing the usual concerned bit but said I was burning the candle at both ends and was basically just whining at me,” the father-of-two told the UK’s Express.

“I thought ‘right I’m going to put you up for sale’.”

His ad, titled ‘Used Wife’, reportedly read:

“For sale one wife.

“Not new has been used but still got some good miles left in her.

“Reason for selling… I’ve had my fill and feel like there HAS to be someone me (oh dear God please let there be).

“Good points: Body work and paint work still in decent shape and has some skills in the kitchen.

“Bad points: Often makes this noise that cannot be silenced unless you order brand new shiny parts of metal.

“Sometimes them [sic] skills in the kitchen result in you ending up in hospital.

“All in all not a bad model for the year, I’m sure some lucky guy will get lots of use.

“Offers welcome, may consider a part exchange for a younger model.

T&Cs: Once bought you cannot return… EVER!”*

And the offers came in…

Mr O’Kane said he did get some offers, with bids soaring to £65,000 before Ebay removed the listing.

While there were a few “pervy guys” some people got in on the joke and asked questions about the potential purchase’s upkeep.

“The best one was ‘has she raced or rallied?’”, said Mr O’Kane.

But when Simon’s wife found out about the joke she didn’t initially take it too well.

“I was absolutely fuming – I wanted to kill him,” Leandra O’Kane told the Express.

But then the Englishwoman explained her anger was mostly because he’d used a bad photo – and after her initial shock wore off, she saw the lighter side.

Mrs O’Kane claimed that her husband has a streak of hypochondria, and that was the reason for her lack of enthusiasm to play the doting wife.

The 27-year-old said her partner is a serial joker and she’s going to do some purchasing of her own to exact some revenge for his attempts of selling her.

“I was going to have a new Mulberry bag for Christmas but I’m not waiting until then,” said Mrs O’Kane. “I’m going to have it for my birthday in November.”

At the end of the day Mr O’Kane didn’t seem eager to let his wife go anywhere.

“I’m really lucky that she’s such a legend and takes all my pranks on the chin,” he said.
