The talented Aussie actress stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday and gave a very frank interview about her epic romance with the 49-year-old.

Clearly in an open mood, the mother-of-four revealed they jumped into bed together after just three days.

Ellen asked the 46-year-old how long it took to know that Andrew was the one, “Actually, after three days,” she revealed.

“He turned to me – and we were in bed as you are after three days- and he said, ‘Cate’ and I thought ‘s*** he’s gonna ask me to marry him and I’m gonna have to say yes,'” she told the talk show host.

“And then he said ‘I’m hungry do you want to go get something to eat?’” she laughed.

However it didn’t take long for marriage to come into the equation with Andrew popping the question after 21 days, and of course she said yes.

The Cinderella star also lifted the lid on the trick she used to lock down her man, and it involves food – but not in the way you think.

“I cooked him the worst meal. I somehow decided that to stuff a trout with walnuts and goat’s cheese would be a good idea,” she said.

“He ate it and then he asked me to marry him, so clearly he was, I don’t know, hallucinating. He realised I couldn’t cook.”

“You give them food poisoning, they’re delirious, and then you’ve got them,” she quipped – we’ll remember that next time we go on a Tinder date, thanks Cate!

Cate and Andrew married in 1997 and have since had four kids together so we’re definitely taking her advice on board.
