Prince Harry and Meghan Markle flew economy class for a secret getaway

Last December, six months before they got married, a then Meghan Markle and Prince Harry decided to bring in the New Year in Nice.

It’s not all royal carriages…

The engaged couple flew to the South of France on a scheduled British Airways flight.

The Daily Mail reports that onlookers were shocked to see the pair on the plane.

Doing their best not to create a fuss, Prince Harry went incognito by donning a baseball cap while Meghan reportedly wore a black beanie.

Prince Harry isn’t the only down to earth royal. Two years ago Prince William shocked us by traveling on a commercial flight on his 34th birthday

Harry tried to disguise himself by wearing a cap.

Apparently they sat in the last row, near the toilets.

One passenger noted that Meghan was in a middle seat and they were joined by three bodyguards.

It’s been reported that their trip also entailed a visit to the French Riviera – which happens to be one of Princess Diana’s favourite spots.

Quick getaways may be off the cards with Prince Harry prompting speculation that Meghan is pregnant!

Maybe Meghan donned her FedEx cap from her role in Horrible Bosses?

We expect the next time see Meghan and Harry flying overseas will be for their official tour of the Commonwealth.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be in our neck of the woods when they come to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga, later this year.

“Their Royal Highnesses have been invited to visit the Realms of Australia and New Zealand by the countries’ respective governments,” Kensington Palace’s official statement read.

“The Duke and Duchess will visit the Commonwealth countries of Fiji and Tonga at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.”

Their trip will tie in with the 2018 Invictus Games, hosted in Sydney.
