A story broke earlier this week that Four-year-old Maria Hood had her two-month-old Labrador puppy Sasha stolen during a burglary.
The tragic story broke hearts around the nation, with images of the forlorn little girl accompanied by quotes stating that when asked, she expressed simply that she was, โsad.โ
In a scene that was almost too tragic and adorable for words, Maria opened her arms and told reporters she missed her puppy โthis muchโ.
Ooff.
As well as the puppy, a number of items had been stolen from the families northeast Melbourne home, including a laptop, iPad and jewellery.
The Labrador puppy named Sasha was, understandably the theft that stung the family the most.
A Victoria Police Senior Constable told reporters that it was unlikely the dog escaped on its own.
Something that seems increasingly rare these days is a truly happy ending, but thatโs precisely what this story has.
Sasha was dropped over the side fence at the family home just days after she was taken.
None of the other items were returned but the family are obviously overjoyed, especially Maria.
Taking to Facebook, Ryan Hood, Mariaโs father, thanked everyone for their support and kindness through the ordeal, also crediting the social media support for โhelping the burglar to grow a conscious.โ
โPuppy has been returned and the whole family is very relieved โ especially my daughter,โ Ryan said in his post.
