This is so sad! Meghan Markle has been forced to bid farewell to her beloved rescue pooch, Bogart, in order to live in London with her new fiancรฉ, Prince Harry.

Meghan has two rescue dogs but while her other pooch Guy is already living in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace, Bogart was forced to stay behind, with speculation heโ€™s simply too old to fly to the UK.

Prince Harryโ€™s communications secretary Jason Knauf confirmed: โ€œBogart is now living with very good friends and Guy is now in the UK. Bogart is not coming.โ€

Meghan also discussed the dogs in the coupleโ€™s first interview together, telling the BBCโ€™s Mishal Husain:

โ€œI have two dogs that Iโ€™ve had for quite a long time, both my rescue pups.

โ€œAnd one is now staying with very close friends and my other little guy is, yes heโ€™s in the UK, heโ€™s been here for a while. I think heโ€™s doing just fine.โ€

The dogs frequently feature on Meghanโ€™s Instagram page and she refers to them as โ€˜my lovesโ€™ and โ€˜my boysโ€™.

The bride-to-be adopted Bogart, a labrador-shepherd mix, after she bumped into Ellen DeGeneres with her wife Portia de Rossi in an animal shelter in LA several years ago.

Meghan confessed in Best Health magazine that Ellen pushed her into it.

โ€œEllen goes โ€˜Is that your dog?โ€™ And I said, โ€˜No,โ€™ and sheโ€™s like, โ€˜You have to take that dog.โ€™ And I said, โ€˜Well, Iโ€™m deciding.โ€™ And sheโ€™s like, โ€˜Rescue the dog!โ€™โ€ Meghan recounted.

Ellen also told Meghan, โ€œYouโ€™re taking that dog homeโ€ and asked if she had a name yet.

โ€œAnd so I brought him home!,โ€ Meghan revealed. โ€œBecause Ellen told me to.โ€

Prince Harry has also hilariously revealed his new fiancรฉe has managed to charm the Queenโ€™s corgis, confessing the pups took to Meghan more than they ever had to him.

Harry turned to Meghan during the BBC interview and said: โ€œAnd the corgis took to you straight away.

โ€œIโ€™ve spent the last 33 years being barked at; this one [Meghan]walks in, absolutely nothing โ€ฆโ€

Meghan said they were: โ€œJust laying on my feet during tea, it was very sweet.โ€

Harry added: โ€œโ€ฆ just wagging tails and I was just like argh.โ€

It certainly sounds like Bogart is in good hands with Meghanโ€™s friends and at least she has Guy and (several) corgis to keep her from missing him too much!
