Millions of dreams became a reality over the weekend (possibly speculation, but it feels like an accurate number) when hundreds of border collies descended to the one place to break possibly the most important record we could imagine.
The Border Collies Owners of South Australia (BOSCA) gathered at the Willaston Oval in South Australia yesterday to beat Dr Katrina Warren’s 2013 record of having the most border collies in one place at one time.
Old BOSCA put our favourite TV vet to shame with an official count of 576 dogs – I’ll be honest; it looks exactly as I imagine heaven.
There’s just so much to take in – this one has a pup smiling directly at the camera and there’s a framed photo of another one behind him.
Imagine the pandemonium if any stray sheep had wandered past…
There were even AFL supporters out in force.
For whatever reason, the Guinness Book of Records doesn’t accept breed-specific records but really, who cares. Everyone knows we’re only here to pat as many pups as possible.
BOSCA were also able to raise $6000 for pooch-related charities Guardian Angel Animal Rescue, SA Dog Rescue and Scruffer Lovers.
Organiser Yvonne McGrath told news.com.au she was “absolutely rapt” with just how many dogs descended upon the oval and their perfect behaviour.
“I couldn’t believe how good they were,” she said.
The main question we’re left with is where did this guy get his vest? It’d come in really handy for most social situations.
Alright, we’re done now.
