On Christmas Eve, 2016, Zara and Mike Tindall made the devastating announcement they had lost their second child.
This weekend, Zara has revealed to The Sunday Times Magazine she and her husband, former rugby player Mike Tindall, suffered through a second miscarriage, “really early on” in her pregnancy.
“I think you need to go through a time where you don’t talk about it because it’s too raw,” the former Olympian told the publication.

“But as with everything, time’s a great healer.”
The hardest part of the miscarriage, Tindall reveals, was telling everyone what had happened.
“We had to tell everyone, and it’s like, everyone knows – that’s the hardest bit,” she explained.
“That’s why I think a lot of people don’t talk about it because [a miscarriage] can happen early enough or it’s only your group of friends and your family that know.”
Last year, Mike spoke candidly about his wife’s first miscarriage to the Sunday Times, revealing their daughter Mia Tindall, 3, had been their “saving grace”.
It was the first time Tindall had spoken publicly of the loss of the couple’s second child.
“One thing you do learn is how many other people have had to go through the same,” Mike, then 38, told The Sunday Times.
“The saving grace for us has been [four-year-old daughter] Mia,” he said.
“However down we feel she will come running up in our faces.”
Just weeks after the pair confirmed their second pregnancy back 2016, Zara and Mike then had to reveal they’d lost their baby.
It’s believed the then 35-year-old was about four months into her pregnancy.
“Very sadly, Zara and Mike Tindall have lost their baby. At this difficult time, we ask that everyone respects their privacy,” a spokesperson for the couple explained at the time.
On a much happier note, on June the 20th of this year, the pair announced the arrival of their second baby girl.
The new bub, named Lena, is the fourth grandchild of Princess Anne, Zara’s mother.
