Telling your partner you’re expecting a child is supposed to be a happy moment, but for Courtney Hill it was heartbreaking. She whispered the words to her husband’s lifeless body at his wake.
The couple from Chicago were trying for another baby, but Brian was tragically killed in a truck accident on February 2.
Courtney took a pregnancy test on the morning of his wake and discovered she was pregnant. The baby would be joining their toddler daughter, Reagan.
Two weeks ago, Courtney had a miscarriage scare after she was rushed to hospital.
“We were frightened that she was losing the baby,” her father, Oscar Blomgren, told CBS2 Chicago.
“She said, ‘Dad, I have news for you’.”
Courtney learned she wasn’t just expecting one child – she’s expecting three! She said she’s “excited to have three more smiles that remind me of [my husband].”
Her sister Amanda has set up a GoFundMe donation page which has already raised $16,650.
