Over the last few months, we’ve discovered what the [weirdest celebrity baby names](http://www.aww.com.au/relationships/parenting-family/the-best-of-hollywoods-weird-baby-names-7286|target=”_blank” in existence are, as well as the most popular names of the last 100 years, but could this be the most controversial bub moniker yet?
Well, according to one online forum, the answer is yes.
One Mumsnet user, who goes by the username babynameconfusion, was recently ripped to digital threads after asking the popular UK parenting forum whether she can spell her newborn child’s name one way, but pronounce it the other.
With controversial names like Satan and Seaman currently banned in Australia, you’d think this new mum’s name would be on the same playing field – however, it’s not.
The name under fire? Felicia.
“DH and I like the name Felicia,” babynameconfusion posted to the forum. But we would pronounce it ‘Fuh-liss-ee-a’ rather than like Feleesha.”
“What would you think if you saw a baby with this name? Would people always pronounce it wrong?”
And that’s when the internet blew up…
“You would be landing your child with years and years of correcting people,” one user criticised.
Another took the critique to a harsh, new level, saying, “I’d hate you for it.”
“You can’t go using a name and choosing your own random pronunciation for it and not expect your child to be properly p*ssed off with you.”
“There are millions of names, choose one you actually like the sound of.”
