Parents love Peppa Pig. The little English cartoon is any mum and dad’s secret weapon for a moments peace, because while Peppa snorts happily around the screen, the children are completely transfixed, entertained and wonderfully quiet. Just like magic.
But Peppa Pig has given parents a new reason to love her, because for the first time in 218 episodes, Peppa has made adults laugh. And not just an appease-the-kids giggle, but a real laugh, a guffaw large enough to induce a big piggie snort.
Here’s what happened to our little pink friend in the episode (or watch video above) that made us laugh out loud.
Peppa is disappointed that she can’t whistle, so she phones a friend, Susie Sheep, to ask her if she can whistle.
Susie says she cant whistle, but she’s never tried. Peppa is pleased by this.
But then Susie gives whistling a try and nails it first time.

Finally, Peppa has shown some sass, some backbone, some emotion other than her painful (but great for the kids!) cheerfulness and us adults – we love it!
