A family from North Carolina have welcomed a single daughter, Ruby, into their household of six sons.
In the video below, the boys — Jackson, 13, Campbell, 10, Sawyer, 7, Houston, 5, Shepherd, 4 and Knox, 2, all take turns at holding their baby sister and saying a few words about how they feel.
Although the oldest son has seen his five younger brothers grow up, he understands that it will be different with a girl and can barely hide his excitement.
The middle child, Sawyer says, “she’s as precious as a ruby” and added that if anyone tried to harm his newborn sister he would join the police force and lock up the perpetrator for 1,000 years.
The youngest boy, Knox, doesn’t say anything. He just tenderly kisses his new little sister on the forehead.
