The video of Audra Lynn’s water delivery has been seen by more than six million after her midwife, Lisa Marie Sanchez Oxenham, posted it to Instagram and Facebook.
Californian Audra completely keeps her cool throughout the video, which is less than a minute long, before her second child seamlessly arrives. After what looks like a couple of contractions, her baby is smoothly delivered, and she holds him close and says: “my baby son”.
Midwife Lisa notes that the baby’s head was already out, which viewers could not see in the video. However, the midwife has said that it was an “incredible moment”. In her post alongside the video, she wrote: “My client Audra’s beautiful home birth. A midwife’s role is fluid, providing whatever is necessary for each individual birthing experience, although almost always that role is simply to offer the gift of quiet”.
The post has attracted thousands of shares and comments, with one Facebook user writing: “Thank you for sharing such a beautiful moment! It brings back memories, awesome memories!”
