Every parent has done it; turned their back on their child for a second and suddenly and unexpectedly things go awry.
Thankfully for mother of five Tila Levi she and her bub had an angel looking out for them in the form of Tila’s son Joseph Levi.
Tila was changing her 11-month-old son in her Miami home when she turned back to tend to another one of her kids. Seconds later the bub is seen wriggling on the change mat and pretty soon he’s sliding off the table.
In a moment of quick thinking 9-year-old Joseph sees what’s happening and dashes over just in time to catch his brother before he hits the ground.
The whole thing was captured on a nanny camera and Mrs Levi can be seen clutching her son and baby after the incident.
“I was just getting everyone ready for bed. I was home alone with the five kids, and at first I said, ‘I messed up. I did something wrong,’” Mrs Levi later told a local reporter from 7News Miami after it happened.
Joseph Levi can hardly believe he managed to get to his brother so fast.
“I would have never caught him, and I can’t run that fast, so I felt like something came and just pushed me forward,” he said, “and when that happened, I just ran and caught him.”
The Miami mum said that the video was a reminder to all parents how quickly things can go wrong.
“It happens in a second, and I think that all of our lives can change in a second.”
According to ABC News Tila says she decided to share the video post-election when people were struggling to be joyful and she wanted to “change the tone of the day” and encourage parents to be “grateful” for their families.
“We all experience miracles every day,” she told ABC News.
