Today, in her second public post since the birth of Hakavai, the down-to-earth 30-year-old took to Instagram to muse about breastfeeding to her avid followers.

Turia signified the Instagram post with a selfie wearing a white singlet and her hair long and loose around her face.

“There’s a couple of major perks to breastfeeding,” she began.

“I actually found breastfeeding really hard at the beginning. But then I realised it was the first time I’d ever breastfed and it was Hakavai’s first time too, and the first time you try anything new you’re not going to be an expert at it!” she mused before concluding: “We’re not experts (yet) but we’re definitely getting the hang of it.”

Turia’s revelation and positivty struck a chord with many of her fans.

“So true!” commented one follower.

“Yes, the beginning is hard for many mothers, but it’s so rewarding once you get the hang of it,” wrote another.

Some fans felt inspired to share their own breastfeeding stories: “The first 8 weeks were the hardest for us not knowing if I could keep going. But, 13 months on now and going strong, best decision I ever made,” explained one mother.
