Kyal and Kara Demmrich, who gained a cult following of design devotees after appearing on The Block: Fans v Faves in 2014, have welcomed their second child together — a beautiful baby girl!
Taking to Instagram, the lovely couple shared their happy news while also revealing the new little bundle of joy’s all-important moniker.
“Wow! She is here, born at 2:58am this morning, 30th May on Kara’s Birthday. Our little girl is feeding well and healthy. She’s 54cm. 3.56kg,” they wrote on their joint account, alongside a gallery of first family photos. “We named her Vada Jane Demmrich.”
Vada joins newly-minted big brother Ziya, one. And it’s clear he’s thrilled with the exciting new gig!
“Big brother Ziya was running around the room saying “Sissi”. Clearly stoked with his little sister! 😍” the duo added of their first-born.
The couple, who have been married for nine years, announced that they were expecting once again at the beginning of the year. They shared their exciting news on social media with an adorable family photo at the beach, showing themselves, Ziya and a stick figure — baby-to-be! — carved into the sand.
“Our little family is about to get a little bigger! Ziya is totally pumped to have a little bro or sis – due to arrive May 2018,” they wrote on Instagram. “I guess everyone will start telling us ‘you thought you were busy with one kid’ Bring it on little one, we can’t wait to meet you!”
Kara debuted her growing baby bump shortly after the snap, with a boomerang video of herself in blue jeans and dusty-pink floaty top.
“Showing a heck of a lot quicker with our second babe!,” she wrote alongside the video.
“This time around, I’m focusing on enjoying this pregnancy and not being so nervous about the physical changes that occur… What a miracle it is growing a human.”
