Teigan and Alex announced their happy baby news just over two months ago.

Alex shared the exciting update alongside two photos posted to Instagram. The first, showing himself and Teigan holding an ultrasound photo and the second pointing to an October 2018 due date.

“Baby McKinnon coming soon,” the ex-NRL player captioned the darling pics.

The wonderful news marks another milestone for the couple who captured the nation’s heart when they went through the unimaginable.

In March 2014, at just 22, the former Newcastle Knights player was told he would live the rest of his life as an incomplete quadriplegic after fracturing his C4 and C5 vertebrae in a football tackle.

“They told us he’d never walk again, he may never breathe on his own and he’ll be in a wheelchair. That was really hard,” Teigan previously explained to Woman’s Day.

Just days later, doctors even warned her that he may not make it through the night.

However, Alex did more than just survive. When he came out of his induced coma, he proposed – just three weeks after the near-fatal tackle.

The beautiful duo tied the knot last October.

They took their vows in front of 150 of their nearest and dearest including some of NRL’s biggest names, including Brisbane Broncos captain Darius Boyd who served as Alex’s best man.

And in an incredible show of strength, Alex fulfilled his wish of standing on his wedding day.

Teigan said of the promise: “It doesn’t worry me if he walks me (down the aisle), or is just standing at the altar; I still get to marry the man of my dreams.”

A huge congratulations again to the happy couple!
