Selena Gomez’s mum remembers daughter she lost to miscarriage in heartbreaking Instagram post

The Hollywood star's mum penned a beautiful post amid reports she has been hospitalised after learning of her daughter's renewed relationship with Justin Bieber.

In a heartbreaking Instagram post, Selena Gomez’s mother remembers the daughter she lost in 2011. Mandy Teefey suffered a miscarriage while she was pregnant with Selena’s sister — and six years later she still takes the time to honour her unborn child, whom she named Scarlett.

“Thank you to all the fans who honoured our Scarlett yesterday. Dec 17th will never be the same, but we decide to celebrate her by writing her letters on red balloons and releasing them. Now the 17th is intertwined with the wrap of S2,” she wrote referring to the second season of 13 Reasons Why, which she is the executive producer of along with Selena.

“A mum’s love for their children is pretty fierce. In order of my girls, Selena, Scarlett, and Gracie — family is what matters, blood or not, #family13 made me smile and feel loved when so needed and they didn’t know. Then, I came home to Brian and Gracie to send our love to Scarlett.”

So sweet! Previously, Selena, 25, has gushed about her mum and praised her for raising her as a single mum. “I definitely didn’t appreciate [my upbringing] when I was little. I was frustrated that my parents weren’t together and never saw the light at the end of the tunnel where my mom was working hard to provide a better life for me,” she told Glamour magazine. “It’s because of [my mum] that I can do things on my own.”

In 2013, Mandy welcomed another daughter Gracie with husband Brian.

Despite her close relationship with her famous daughter, it was recently reported that Mandy, 41, was hospitalised after a heated argument with Selena over her renewed relationship with Justin Bieber. According to TMZ, she was taken to the hospital voluntarily for treatment after she discovered the pair was in couples therapy and trying to make their relationship work long-term. Hopefully, the mother-daughter duo can work things out.
