A mother has shared the heartbreaking letter her six-year-old son wrote to her before he died.
Leland Shoemake was admitted to hospital in Georgia two weeks ago after he was diagnosed with a rare brain infection.
His mother Amber and father Tim stayed by his bedside day and night until he passed away but when they returned home, they found something amazing.
Leland had written his parents a note that read: “Stil (sic) with you … Thank you mom and dad … Love.”
He has also drawn a red heart with three words inside it: Mom, dad and love.

“When Tim and I came home for the first time to get him clothes to be buried in, this is the note we found from him on the table in the living room,” Amber wrote on her Facebook page.
“We have no idea when he wrote it but you can tell he was always a special child,” Amber wrote on a Facebook page she set up in Leland’s honour.
“We will love you forever Leland. Sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite!”
