From overprotective to indulgent, here’s a look at some of the various child-rearing styles of the stars.

Not finding too many pics of Adele and son Angelo, one, on the web these days? That’s probably because the singer took overzealous Paparazzi crew to court for taking unauthorised photos of intimate family moments, winning an undisclosed five-figure sum.

Should babies be treated like adults? Tobey Maguire and other ‘RIE method’ (Resources for Infant Educarers) advocates shun baby talk and throw out bottles and toys, in order to inspire kids to be independent.

Pink revealed she is a big proponent of attachment parenting, which includes practices such as extended breastfeeding. “I support attachment parenting 100 percent,” she wrote on Twitter, “and have a very happy and healthy little girl to show for it.”

The Jolie-Pitt clan are so tight-knit, the six kids travel everywhere with their parents and are home schooled. “I do think we live in a different age and the education system hasn’t caught up with our children and our way of life,” Jolie told The Independent. “But we travel and I’m the first person to say, ‘Get the school work done as quickly as possible because let’s go out and explore’.”

While some stars steer their children away from the limelight, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith have no problems steering their kids, Jaden, 16, and Willow, 13, towards a career in Hollywood.

In support of her pre-mastication habits, the actress posted this video of breakfast with Baby Bear, 3, explaining: “This has been going on for thousands of years. [It’s] still going on all over the place. And it’s natural.”

They say kids place one of the greatest strains on relationships, and for Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, their recent “consciously uncoupling” was allegedly the result of their differing ideas on parenting. Us Weekly reported.

Madonna has apparently banned watching TV, ice cream and milk from her home, among other things, and wont let the children own iPhones until they’re 16. “I’m the disciplinarian,” she was quoted as saying in Newsweek.

Actor Matthew Goode, Nicole’s co-star in Stoker recently gushed about Nicole’s parenting abilities at a U.S. press conference. “Some stars pay people to look after their children,” he said, “but she’s super hands-on and generous with her time.”
