Since Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman divorced in 2001, she’s had little-known contact with their adopted kids, Connor, 23, and Bella, 25.
Nicole hasn’t been photographed with them since 2007, and when Bella got married in London in 2015, neither Nicole nor Tom was there. But now, Life & Style can exclusively confirm that Nicole’s is back in her estranged daughter’s life.
There’s been a thaw in the relationship. For the first time, Bella is including her mom’s last name as part of hers, which she announced when she launched the venture BKC, which her website describes as “a new clothing line by Bella Kidman Cruise.”
Nicole, 50, and Bella “have put aside any differences they may have had,” a source tells Life & Style.
“Nicole is thrilled that Bella has paid tribute to her by naming her clothing line BKC. She’s supportive of Bella’s career move and really excited for her!”
Nicole made headlines in September 2017, after she neglected to mention her adopted children in her Emmys speech. She received the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or a Movie for her role as Celeste Wright in HBO’s Big Little Lies.
“I have two little girls, Sunday and Faith, and my darling Keith,” she said in her moving speech. “This is yours. I want my little girls to have this on their shelf and to look at it and go, ‘Every time my mommy didn’t put me to bed, it’s because of this. I got something!'”
Viewers at home watching the award show were quick to call out Nicole’s remarks. “It’s always super uncomfortable to me when Nicole doesn’t mention her adopted kids,” one user wrote.
While others felt she intentionally didn’t mention her children because of their connection to Scientology: “I don’t fault you for not mentioning your adopted kids with Tom at the award ceremonies. They disconnected with you because they are brainwashed.”
Maybe now, Nicole and Bella will finally be able to improve their relationship.
