Eve Morey, who plays Sonya on Neighbours, is expecting her second child. Eve and her husband, Jonathan Dutton, had their first daughter, Ivy, in 2014.
Eve announced the news live on TV in during a trip to the UK.
“I’ve just gone 22 weeks pregnant,” she admitted during her appearance on The Wright Stuff.
“Everyone at work knows, but we realised yesterday that nobody outside of work knows!” she said.
She later revealed to OK! Online that she and Jonathan are now expecting a baby girl.
Eve’s character Sonya has been at the centre of some very dramatic storylines this year on the show.
Her husband Toadie (Ryan Moloney) cheated on her with a Dee Bliss lookalike Andrea Somers (Madeleine West).
Sonya also tragically lost the baby she was carrying for Steph (Carla Bonner) and Mark (Scott McGregor).
“The baby stuff is very… I find that very distressing since becoming a mother,” she told Metro.co.uk.
Her character has also been battling problems with alcohol and gambling.
“I was wrecked by the end of it,” she said. “Normally you have a storyline that lasts six weeks, and then we move on. It’s tested my abilities.”
After acting out such depressing storylines, it’s nice to hear that Eve and her husband have some exciting news to celebrate off-screen.
Eve’s husband Jonathan is also a former Neighbours star. Jonathan played Tad Reeves in Neighbours from 1998 to 2002.
