Car seat laws are strict – for good reason – and it can be a challenge to fit three car seats in the back of some Australian cars.
Choosing to have a bigger family can often mean not only investing in bunk beds to accomodate a growing brood, but a bigger car too, in order to comfortably and safely secure them all in approved car seats.
But one company from the UK may have come up with a solution to this modern car seat dilemma by manufacturing a car seat that safely fits up four kids in a car’s back seat.
Multimac produces the innovative child car seat to fit different sized cars and families while ensuring absolute safety.
“The Multimac is a complete structure with 3 or 4 berths,” the company’s website explains.
“If your car has a back seat – we have a Multimac that will fit it!”
The impressive car seat system features a five-point harness, can be fully adjusted for different sized children, and accomodates a baby capsule that can be secured in place.
The sleek-looking child seat simply sits on top of the back seat of your car and is able to be locked in place using existing seatbelt mounting points in the car’s floor.
But best of all the whole seat can be quickly moved out of the back seat and transfered into another car without having the struggle with multiple buckles and straps. Winning!
There’s no word yet as to whether this incredible car seat will be made legal in Australia, but the concept is revolutionary.
We can see many Aussie parents loving the idea, although with a starting price of £1299 (approximately $2700) not including accessories, it’s certainly not a solution for everyone.
