When it comes to parenting styles, there’s always going to be people with opposing views – and that includes your family.
This is what happened to Mumsnet user Blondeaninept, who has come up against her mother-in-law about how much food she feeds her children.
Blondeaninept says her mother-in-law was “appalled” by the amount of food, which consisted of three serves of vegetables, chicken and mozzarella sticks, that she serves her six-year-old son and three-and-a-half-year-old daughter on their plates.
Her mother-in-law believed “it was way, way too much”.
So, Blondeaninept decided to take to Mumsnet’s Talk community board and put the question to other mothers: is she feeding her children too much food?
Many were quick to jump to Blondeaninept’s defence.
“Looks fine to me, plenty of veg on the plate. Kids are great at telling you if they are too full/don’t want it. Ignore, they’re your kids!” hoopdeloop wrote.
No-one seemed to agree with the mother-in-law, however, some mums did question if there was actually enough food on the plate…
NavyandWhite wrote: “I was thinking it doesn’t look enough,” while Losingtheplad said, “It doesn’t look like that much to me…”
What do you think? Is this too much, too little or just the right amount of food for a six-year-old and a three-and-a-half-year-old? Tell us by commenting on our Facebook page.
