Congratulations are in order for Michael Phelps and wife Nicole who have just welcomed their second child — a little boy named Beckett Richard Phelps.
The Olympic great confirmed the happy news on a few Instagram accounts, including son Boomer’s, which is run by his parents.
“I am officially a big bro!!! All I wanna do is hold him! I can’t wait til I get to teach him so many cool things about the world!! #bigbro” the caption read for Boomer, who will celebrate his second birthday in May.
Meanwhile, Michael, 32, kept things a little more formal over on his own page by sharing a photo of his newly-expanded brood.
“Magical moments yesterday,” he captioned the darling upload. “Nicole and I would like to introduce Beckett Richard Phelps to the world!”
He added: “We had a healthy baby boy and a healthy mama. I truly do feel like the happiest man in the world. Being able to build our family to now 4 (6 with doggies) is so incredible! #familyof4now”
Nicole, 32, also took to social media to share a precious photo of her new family-of-four still in the hospital.
“Our family grew by 1 yesterday. Meet Beckett Richard Phelps. I’m surrounded by boys and I couldn’t be happier,” she wrote, sharing that little Beckett was born on Monday.
Michael and Nicole, who tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Cabo in 2016, announced last year that they were expecting again.
Taking to Instagram, Michael revealed: “Number 2 on the way!!!! So excited!! Wonder if it’s a boy or a girl??”
While Nicole posted the same pic and mused: “Lil mans going to be a Big Brother!!!”
Not to be left out of the fun Boomer’s Instagram page uploaded a photo of the adorable bub clapping his hands with joy in front of the pregnancy test, and exclaimed: “So excited to see what mama is having!! Do I get to have a brother or a sister?!?”
While Michael is the most decorated Olympian of all time, for the retired swimming champ being a dad is without a doubt his biggest achievement.
“For me it’s the best thing that ever happen to me,” the American sports star has said.
The Rio Games marked Phelp’s fifth Olympics and brought his medal count up to 28.
But as he told People, he’s ready to grow his family and spend time with his gorgeous son.
“He’s locking onto things and staring at things now, so you really do see him growing — not just physically growing, but you can tell he’s getting older. And it’s just a cool feeling watching him grow up,” he told the publication.
“So we started off on a perfect note: We got a boy. We got a beautiful, healthy baby boy, and we’re looking to continue to grow our family.”
Congrats again to the happy family-of-four!
