In news that’ll bring a little extra cheer to 2020, Bachelor dream team Laura Byrne and Matthew ‘Matty J’ Johnson have announced they’re expecting their second child – and they’ve done it in quite the fashion.
Laura, 31 and Matty, 33, already share adorable one-year-old Marlie-Mae, so it looks like they’re now in for double the trouble.
The pair took to Instagram to make the announcement, with Laura sharing a beautiful pic of the family of three by the ocean with her round baby bump on show.
“I recon we’ve kept this little beach ball under wraps for long enough….. Half way to number 2,” she wrote.
She comically added: “A big shout out to @matthewdavidjohnson for his contribution 😂”
Matty also took to his Instagram platform to share the news, adding a photo of his daughter pulling a face and writing: “Marlie-Mae learning shocked face couldn’t have been timed any better.. WE’RE HAVING A BABY!”
He also added a little warning: “Please brace yourself for twice the amount of dad jokes.”
We don’t doubt Matty’s words – the former Bachelor is renowned for pulling out some comedy on his Instagram page alongside fiancee Laura.
With two kids in tow, we can only imagine the ensemble the Johnson family will make.
Even during Laura’s first pregnancy with Marlie-Mae, the mum-to-be was super candid, ensuring she shared the realness of the experience alongside some of the lighter moments.
From shedding hormonal tears over Married At First Sight to dealing with melasma and stretch marks, the brunette beauty gave us life with her refreshing take on impending motherhood.
“I was one of those annoying peacocky pregnant ladies who said things like ‘pregnancy is bliss, it’s breezy easy so far’ and now I can’t touch my toes, or breathe, and every burp could very well be a surprise spew,” she shared in one Instagram post.
Laura and Matty announced they were engaged back in April 2019.
While the pair are yet to get married, we’re expecting they’ll have quite the bridal party now with two little tots to helm the main table.
Speaking to TV WEEK earlier this year, Laura shared some more details on their impending nuptials.
“We had originally thought that we would have our wedding this year, but juggling a baby and full-time work meant that we never got around to locking in a date and venue,” Laura said.
“Luckily our lack of plans and disorganisation meant that we didn’t have to cancel anything. We are now looking to 2021.”
Yep, it certainly looks like 2021 will be quite the year for these two Bachelor lovebirds.
A wedding, a new baby, and a whole new stream of comedic Instagram content – bring it all on, we say.
