Madonna is one proud mother!
The 59-year-old has taken all six of her kids including 21-year-old Lourdes Leon, who she shares with ex Carlos Leon, 17-year-old Rocco Ritchie, from her marriage with ex Guy Ritchie, and adopted children Mercy James and David Banda, both 12, and five-year-old twins Estere and Stella on the trip of a lifetime back to Malawi for a very special milestone.
Madge’s tribe headed back to Malawi’s first-ever paediatric surgery and intensive care centre a year after their mum funded the project, which has been called The Mercy James Institute for Paediatric Surgery and Intensive Care.
And to celebrate the one-year anniversary, the Hung Up hitmaker shared a beautiful family photo with her children in front of the bright mural at the hospital.
“Tree of Life….. Mercy James Pediatric Hospital! One Year Later! #everythingislove #malawi ♥️ art work by @jacarandaschoolfororphans,” Madonna captioned the Instagram shot.
In the snap, matriarch Madonna stands in the middle of her brood who surround her with beaming smiles.
Opening up about her connection with the country, Madonne told People in September last year: “I love when my kids are in Africa.”
“Their selfless behaviour, compared to the normal complaining in the privileged world we live in, is great to see.”
During their visit, Madonna was given a tour of the centre and taken into theatre to watch an operation.
She later gave a press conference to awaiting media to talk about the children’s hospital.
As for her next venture, Madonna says she wants to open a football academy which has been inspired by her soccer-mad son David.
Madge says her little boy would love to see his home country Malawi one day make it to the World Cup tournament.
