Small but mighty may be the best way to describe the sixth child of Lauren Newton and Matt Walsh.
In August, the couple announced that their youngest son had arrived seven weeks early after Lauren was admitted to hospital for five weeks of bed rest due to complications.
Taking to Instagram, Lauren, 40, shared a snap of husband Matt, former Olympic swimming champion, in his surgical mask holding their precious newborn baby boy.
“Alby James Newton Welsh Born at 8:20 on 20/8/2020,” she penned at the time.
“We are so grateful to the amazing @dr_stephencole and the wonderful team at @frances_perry_house. It has been a long journey and we are so thrilled to have gorgeous Alby here safely. He is 7 weeks early but doing really well.”
And since his surprise arrival, little Alby, who is the sixth grandchild for showbiz couple Bert and Patti Newton, has been making some amazing progress and settling into family life back home with his five older siblings.
“This beautiful boy is such a joy. He is calm and peaceful and has made things very easy for his mum and dad. We are so incredibly lucky that we made it through and got to bring him home. I feel so grateful every time I look at him 💙,” proud mum Lauren recently penned.
While grandma Patti is just as smitten. “We all love him so much,” the 75-year-old has said of her grandson.
Alby joins brother Sam, 11, sister Eva, nine, sister Lola, six, brother Monty, two, and sister Perla, 18 months.
