Kate Ritchie is an Aussie icon in her own right, but her daughter Mae is already well on track to stealing our hearts just like her mother did back in the day.

The mother-daughter duo clearly share a special bond – Kate rarely shares highlights of their life together, but when she does, there’s no denying their love for one another.

The latest piece of evidence? Only what looks to be the ultimate day out over the weekend.

On Sunday, Kate shared a beautiful image of herself and Mae as they went to the beach for a sunny day out.

Of course, being September, those sunny days do come with some extra baggage – in Sunday’s case, a very strong tail wind.

“Sandy seafood sticks and a wonderfully windy Sunday,” Kate captioned the snap.

Kate’s fans took straight to the comments section to share their love for the pic.

One wrote: “Omg I love seafood sticks they are my favourite! Sounds like you had a glorious day.”

While another commented on how much Mae is starting to look like her mother: “Oh my goodness, she’s just like mummy.”

Kate’s six-year-old daughter Mae is quickly growing up to be just like her mum, Kate.

Kate recently spoke to The Weekly about the tradition she’s instilled every year for her daughter Mae’s birthday.

Chatting about the iconic Weekly Birthday Cake Book, she revealed: “Of the six birthday cakes I have baked for my daughter three have come straight from the Australian Women’s Weekly Children’s Birthday Cake Book“.

“And the other three have certainly been inspired by it,” she added before describing the familiar creations she’s whipped up for Mae over the years.

“I’ve done the Number One covered in chocolate drops, the Coconut covered Bunny Rabbit for birthday number two and the Barbie princess cake for number three.”

Kate’s been a dab hand at baking up a storm for Mae’s milestone birthdays.

She also spoke of how her baking tradition with Mae was made all the more special when done together.

“It is just good fun with a lovely sense of achievement attached when we can stand back and marvel at our creations,” she said, before adding: “I can’t deny the fact that scoring the bowl and the spatula serves as excellent encouragement to get involved too!”

Looks like these two have plenty more heart-warming content to bring us in the years ahead.
